Ust Abid Khan
Ustadh Abid Khan has been studying the Islamic sciences for over 10 years. He has studied under many notable scholars from Makkah, Madinah and the UK. He has an ijazah in hadith and Quran recitation from a number of scholars including Shaykh Ahmad Muhammad ‘Amir al-Azhari, Shaykh Dr Ahmad Tahir Awais Somali and Shaykh ‘Ali Khallufi from Morrocco. He has also graduated from the Al-Salam Institute Islamic Scholarship Programme and was awarded his shahada al-‘alimiyya (Licence in Islamic Scholarship) under the supervision of Shaykh Akram Nadwi. He graduated in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Physics (Hons.) and went on to specialise in his Masters in Biomaterials and Stem Cell research at University College London, graduating in July 2011. He is currently working as a consultant at First Ethical and is also an Imam at Masjid Noor in Harrow, London.
Ust Yahya Raaby
Ustadh Yahya Raaby currently serves as an instructor of Arabic & Islamic Sciences at Badr Academy, Department manager and Supervisor of student affairs.
Yahya began memorising the Qur’an at a tender age and by The Grace of Allah completed it within his teenage years. He done this whilst studying at Badr Academy under qualified teachers who consisted of graduates of The Islamic University of Madina Al-Munawarra (KSA) & Islamic University of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saudi in Riyadh (KSA). Therein he also studied different Islamic sciences such as Tafseer, Hadith, Usool-Fiqh, Fiqh, Grammar, Seerah, History and more. Yahya from a young age always had a knack for the Arabic Language and was always involved in studying its different aspects; from listening, reading, writing and other core language skills. This allowed him to become fluent at the language before he was ever able to set foot in an Arabic-speaking country.
Today Yahya spends his days juggling between studying Islamic Law and serving his community through means of Teaching, Lecturing, Delivering Friday sermons, Leading Prayers, Counselling and more. Lastly by also being a major influencer in the development of Badr Academy.
